J.D.'s First Day of School

I found a printable Letter of the Week curriculum at this blog, and I decided to try it out with J.D. I wasn't planning to start any school with him until he turned 3, but on a whim I printed off the first lesson, and gave it to him today. I put the pages into sheet protectors and let him write with dry-erase markers so that he could work on them over and over again. Handwriting is what I thought he would struggle with the most, but he completely surprised me by doing VERY well.
I only helped him trace letter A one time before I went over to start doing dishes. The next thing I knew, he was telling me, "I made a letter A!" Sure enough, he did this all by himself. (Please excuse the spaghetti face. It was right after lunch, and he couldn't wait to get started on his schoolwork!)
Hopefully he'll continue to enjoy school as much as he did today!

  2. Good job JD! It should be easy to teach him how to write his name! :)
